About

Hi, I’m Carly. I like writing and have a creative side, but I don’t get the opportunity to express this side of myself very often. I also like sharing my thoughts on random topics, as silly and irrelevant as they may be. These things lead me to create my blog, where I can write about whatever is on my mind and share updates on my life. The purpose of this site is to allow me to do something I enjoy, while providing some entertainment along the way. Feel free to laugh with me and/or at me as you please.

I’ve listed some of the basics about myself below. I haven’t included much detail, as I find it impossible to effectively summarize my personality.

My Stats:

Age: 28

Birthplace: Alaska

Residence: Texas

Occupation:  Accountant (No, I do not do taxes)

A Few Things I Enjoy:

  • People watching
  • Deep thinking
  • The sense of accomplishment achieved from being able to keep flowers alive for at least a week
  • Pretending to be a psychologist and telling people how to solve their problems
  • The feeling of sweet relief you get when leaving work on Friday afternoons

For further biographical information, see my first post entitled The Birth of a Blog.

Important Note: Having a sense of humor is a prerequisite for visiting my blog. Please don’t take anything I write too seriously.

Thanks for reading!

Feel free to share my site and/or posts with others, but please do not pass them off as your own. If you have any questions, you can email me at curlycarlyblog@gmail.com.

  1. I love the “feel” of your blog…it’s like running into an old friend. You should be applauded for writing “just because.” I too love the sense of accomplishment of keeping flowers alive after one week..doesn’t happen often, but I try!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and I look forward to reading your entries!

  2. Love the “Occupation: Public Accountant (No, I do not do taxes)”. Same here! I hate that people assume that you are so busy during tax season.

    • Oh good, someone to understand the accounting jokes!

With the number of accountants out there who don’t do taxes, it’s amazing to me that everyone assumes we all do them. I think there should be a PSA to inform the public about that.

  3. I’m not sure if I qualify on the humour criteria but I just wanted to drop a line to let you know it was a pleasure to stop by your blog.

I read a few posts and found myself nodding. Smiling, too. :)

Do keep the words flowing. I’m happy to join the growing ranks of your readers.

  4. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog. I don’t have any plans to stop writing, so don’t worry- many more posts to come! And thank you for following, I’m always excited to see that someone wants to continue reading!

    • Haha thanks! I don’t have the accent because I didn’t move here until later in childhood, but I would say the majority of my friends have some degree of it. It’s usually pretty entertaining.

  5. I have just completed level 1 (Reading at least 2 months worth of entries) of “how to stalk a blog properly and creepily” on your blog. Please accept this certificate “Being Creeped Out Because This Person Is Reading Everything I Type” for being an unwilling participant. Please note level 2 will be commencing shortly. :)

    • Congratulations! Graduating to Level 2 is quite a feat, especially if you’re like me and fall asleep 10 minutes into reading something. I hope I can continue to entertain, but I can’t promise I can provide another 2 months’ worth at a time. Thanks for reading!

  6. Howdy Neighbor! I can tell just by this page alone that we will be good friends. The most important thing in the universe is a great sense of humor. I applaud your ability to keep flowers alive for a week…..I can’t usually keep them past 48 hrs, even with CPR. From Alaska huh? Quite a different geography from here in North Texas eh? I’m from Oregon and miss having the mountains and trees…..no people…those hills out near Mineral Wells are NOT mountains….. :) Have a great day Carly.

    • Yes, Texas is very different from Alaska, and Oregon I’m sure. I could probably keep flowers alive a lot longer up there during the summer for sure.

Thanks for stopping by and for following my blog. I look forward to keeping up with yours!
